The advisor behind the analysis.
Peter Tumbas is a Connecticut-licensed REALTOR® with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices New England Properties. He writes Greenwich Home Intel to help buyers and sellers make better decisions, and he represents the clients who want a candid guide.

Background
I am not a Greenwich native and I will not pretend to be. What I bring is a career built around complex transactions: real estate social media marketing, business financing in New York City and insurance. I have lived in Pittsburgh, Chicago, New York City and Minneapolis before settling in Connecticut, so I understand what a city-to-Connecticut move asks of a buyer.
My mother was a real estate agent, and I grew up around the business. Two summers on Nantucket in college started a long appreciation for New England. I am based in Avon, where my office is, and I work with buyers and sellers in the Farmington Valley and Fairfield County, with a focus on New York City buyers relocating to Connecticut. See my Farmington Valley site, Farmington Valley Luxury Living.
How I work
- I tell you what I think about fit, price and tradeoffs, including when a house or a neighborhood is not right for you.
- I do not hand you off to an assistant after the first call.
- I do not publish numbers I cannot source and date.
- I do not rank schools, characterize residents or steer clients.
